Dear Resident
Polls tell us we are days away from a Labour government with a massive majority led by Angela Rayner and Keir Starmer.
Big issues face us with advances in AI and technology at a time of deep global uncertainty with unprecedented risks. How can you trust Angela Rayner, who voted against Trident, and Keir Starmer with our National Security? And we have seen that Labour’s Tax Trap Manifesto would take the tax burden to its highest level in British History, with NO tax cuts – just tax rises.
Labour will tax your car, your pension, your house and your work.
But you have a vote. You can decide who will be your voice in Westminster.
This choice is important. Keir Starmer is asking you for a blank cheque and we still do not know what he really stands for. A vote for the Lib Dems or Reform will be a vote for Keir Starmer. Or you can vote for a Compassionate Conservative who will stand up for you in parliament to protect your car, your pension, your house and family and your work.
I was born in Chessington and my mother was a theatre nurse in Kingston hospital where I now volunteer in A&E. After my career in business for Mars, the RAC and a Director at a £500m Logistics Plc, and family, my work has included charities such as Kingston Charitable Foundation, Home-Start Kingston, The Children’s Trust and City Harvest London, as well as being a school governor at a local Chessington Academy and mentor at Kingston Uni and the Princes Trust. I recently ran the Kingston Half-Marathon to raise money for the Mayor’s charities and I support local business through our Chamber of Commerce.
Causes close to my heart include children, young people, education, health, returnerships and food waste.
Since I was selected as your candidate 18 months ago, I have been holding the terrible Lib Dem council to account on their shambolic management of Kingfisher Leisure Centre closed in 2019 now not due before 2027 and working hard to raise funds for Chessington Football Club to solve the flooding. I’ve been taking on case work to help frustrated residents on council housing problems and understanding homelessness including volunteering in the winter homeless shelter.
I’ve also consulted with Kingston Hospital management and Healthwatch on A&E customer experience, patient flow, waiting lists, strikes, and preventative and post-op care fitness in the community with Malden Leisure Centre where I secured a government grant, as well as Tolworth Hospital redevelopment for mental health provision and the police role in emergency response.
I backed £183k Home Office government funding for safer streets and worked with community police on safety walks for women and girls, weapons sweep in our local parks, shop-lifting and car theft. I have covered all of our wonderful community events from the Holocaust Remembrance to Thai Pongal and Holi Festival. I’ve followed Kingston Society and campaigned against the over-development of Surbiton station tower blocks. I’ve supported older people and work by proposing a second internship ‘Returnership’ which is now in main government policy.
While Ed Davey is gallivanting around the country pulling embarrassing stunts and focussing on national ambitions over local interests, I will be a local MP working really hard for residents to solve our problems.
The Lib Dems can’t form the next government but they can give Labour unconstrained power over us to dictate record taxes, kill off the economic growth we’ve only just returned to after covid and the war in Ukraine, and putting our national security at risk in a dangerous world.
On Thursday 4th July, please vote for me and a safer securer future that recognises your hard work, your savings and your choice.
